Until 2016, AIPMT was the pre-med exam for admissions to MBBS and BDS courses. However, in April of the same year, the Supreme Court of India passed a ruling to replace AIPMT with NEET. The NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to provide admission to MBBS/BDS courses within India.

All medical and dental colleges authorized by the Medical Council of India are entitled to admit pupils in these courses via their NEET result. Looking for information on NEET? The exam will be completed on paper, using pen & paper format.

This examination consists of 180 Multiple Choice Questions with a negative marking system.

The question sheets for this exam are offered in multiple languages including English, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu, Tamil, Oriya and Kannada.

Marking Scheme for NEET 2023

• The exam paper will have a maximum score of 720 marks, with 180 questions being evenly weighted.
• All questions on the test will be in multiple-choice format, offering four possible answers and only one correct answer.
• You will receive 4 points for each answer that is right.
• Every wrong answer you give will lead to a deduction of 1 mark from your score, so be careful with your answers.
•  Answers to each question must be limited to one accurate response.
• The best way to ensure you score accurately on examinations is to answer questions with either a black or blue ballpoint pen. This tip can help you secure the marks you deserve!
• Providing more than one response to a single query will be considered an incorrect answer.

Eligibility for NEET 2023:

If you wish to attempt the NEET 2023 exam, make sure that you meet the eligibility criteria of this exam.

This position is open to Indian Nationals, Overseas Citizens of India, Non-Resident Indians, People of Indian Origin and Foreign Nationals.

Age Limit

• Applicants must be at least 17 years of age by December 31st of the year of admission.
• The upper age limit for applicants taking the exam is 25 years, with an exception of 5 years for those belonging to OBC/ST/SC category.

Qualification

To qualify for NEET 2022, candidates need to have either cleared or be appearing for their Class 12th/equivalent exam from a Government recognized board, with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as the main subjects. To be eligible for admission, an applicant must have obtained a minimum aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology, and have passed all the subjects individually from the general category. For students from the reserved category, this criterion is relaxed to 40%.

All aspiring competitors of NEET 2022, barring those who hail from Assam, Meghalaya, and Jammu & Kashmir, are required to have an Aadhar Card.

Important Dates (Tentative)

• The application process for NEET 2022 will officially begin at the end of January 2022.
• The deadline to apply for the NEET 2022 exam is the first week of March 2022.
• The deadline to make edits to NEET 2022 application form will be during the first week of March, 2022.
• You can access your admit cards from the beginning of Mid-April 2022.
• The examination will be conducted online in the first week of May 2022.
• The deadline for downloading the OMR answer sheet is the last week of May 2022.
• The results of the examination will be declared during the first week of June 2022.
